The local newspaper, the Daytona Beach News-Journal, published a positive article reviewing sales transaction counts comparing 2008 to 2009 numbers. The transaction counts have been rising steadily while since the lows of 2008. At the same time, property values which had appeared to level out in the first half of 2009 have continued to slowly decline. This is of particular interest to buyers and sellers in the two county area. The increased activity is an indicator that demand has returned (spurred by the lowest prices in many, many years). Increased demand should serve to level prices.
