The West Volusia Area Association of Realtors which is primarily focused on DeLand, Deltona, Orange City, Pierson, and surrounding areas, has released an updated report showing the continuing rise in closed sales. The report compares December results to previous years and also looks at full year results. The good news is that home sales have risen sharply in each of the last two years. In fact, sales were up an astounding 57.8% in 2010 when compared to 2008. That’s great news for sellers who have watched continued price erosion.

There is certainly some confusion among buyers and sellers and even some Realtors who don’t yet see the impact. Prices continue to slide but they are declining at a much slower pace with the increase in buyers. Certainly the real steals seem to be getting much harder to find.
