In the first three quarters of 2011 (January 1 through August 31st) there have been over 2200 residential sales in the Greater Daytona Beach Area recorded in the Multiple Listing Service. Despite what you’ll often hear, properties are moving and they are selling in almost every category. I’ve been told by several people that it is “impossible” to sell this property or that but the real estate community is selling a little bit of everything! This table shows the results.
Certainly single family homes have sold more that condominiums or single family attached (i.e. town homes) but there are also more of them in most communities. Daytona Beach Shores leads in the number of condominium units sold as you would expect since they have far more condo units than other communities.
Ormond Beach and Port Orange are, not surprisingly, leading the area in terms of single family homes. Both areas are highly desirable and have plenty of housing.
